It started with a dream: to train as a doctor at the highest level in the United States. So I began studying for the USMLE, and that step changed me more than I expected.

Early medical school felt like pure memorization, and my mind doesn't work that way. I think like an engineer, not a parrot: I see systems, structures and mechanics. Nothing clicked until I opened a USMLE Qbank. Suddenly medicine was a puzzle where every piece mattered, and I had to connect physiology with pharmacology, biochemistry with pathology, the basics with the clinic. That's when I fell in love with medicine.

Deep Understanding+Integration=Mastery

But no book taught this way. Summaries were quick but shallow; big textbooks were rich but chaotic. So I built my own notes, first by hand, then digitally, and now I'm sharing them with you.

The other half of me is art: design, sound, photography and storytelling. I taught myself these crafts and made medical videos that don't just teach but move people, because medicine should feel alive.

Who are the books for?

How are they different from a textbook or a summary?

Summaries are quick but shallow; big textbooks are rich but hard to navigate. Osler Notes sits in the sweet spot: every topic is built as a chain, from normal physiology to what breaks, what the patient shows and how to act on it, with diagrams and algorithms on almost every page.

Are they useful for the USMLE and other exams?

Yes. The books were born from USMLE preparation, and they focus on the integrated, mechanism-based thinking that exam questions test. They are just as useful on the ward and in board exams that reward understanding over memorization.

Who writes them? Is any of it AI-generated?

Every page is written, drawn and organized by hand by Dr. Ahmed Sami, a cardiologist. None of the content is generated by AI.

What language are they written in?

English, with clear, simple wording so that students who study in English as a second language can follow every step.
